Senate and House Republicans Strike Deal to End DHS Shutdown

A bill to reopen the department, which the House G.O.P. rejected on Friday, could be approved as early as Thursday. It was a sharp turnaround by the lawmakers and President Trump.The resurrected plan would omit money for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol, the agencies carrying out President Trump’s immigration crackdown. Republicans said those agencies’ employees would continue to be paid out of funds that were pushed through Congress last year.
